Meet Karl Hanley — Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ancaster, ON
Hello, I’m Karl — a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), a proud husband, father, and longtime community volunteer. I bring a genuine, human approach to therapy that’s grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep belief in your inner strengths.
Before stepping into the world of psychotherapy, I spent over 20 years in business leadership across Europe and North America. I’ve led teams, made high-stakes decisions, and navigated the very real pressures of modern life. That experience now enriches the work I do with clients—helping you meet life’s curveballs with resilience, clarity, and confidence.
How I Can Help
- ADHD (focus, executive functioning, emotional regulation)
- Your mental health, identity & confidence
- Relationship issues, parenting, communication & intimacy
- Anxiety, Panic attacks, stress & burnout
- Life transitions & personal growth
- Low self-esteem and negative thought patterns
- LGBTQIA2S+ Safe Space
I offer individual and couples therapy in a calm, private setting at Daru Therapy Centre in Ancaster or online throughout Ontario.
My therapeutic style is rooted in:
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): A strengths-based approach building on your desire to experience something different. From that desire, from that belief in something different, together we build the hope for lasting change.
- Person-Centered Therapy: You’re the expert in your life—therapy honours your values, pace, and truth.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Explore and shift negative thinking patterns with practical tools and structure.
- Gottman Method Level 1: Proven tools to help couples build emotional intimacy and manage conflict.
I’m currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University. I’m a proud member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP), and a committed Rotarian serving my local community.
